Average prices at 28 UK fuel brands, not counting motorway services, where prices run much higher. The station counts include them. Updated 10:03pm on 25 September.

Regional brands (marked Northern Ireland) and members-only ones are measured against the UK average like the rest, and left out of the cheapest open to all in GB.

Supermarkets vs the major brands

Supermarket unleaded averages 171.3p today, 3.0p cheaper than the major brands' 174.3p.
Supermarket diesel averages 195.5p today, 4.0p cheaper than the major brands' 199.5p.

The supermarkets are Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsbury's (1,488 forecourts); the major brands are Esso, BP, Shell and 14 more (5,188 forecourts). Each figure is an average of forecourts, not of brands, not counting motorway services.
